The Skilled Trades Education Center is year-round learning hub where youth from all backgrounds can explore careers in the trades through guided instruction, hands-on experience, and mentorship. Designed with input from industry professionals, the center will include fully equipped training bays for carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, welding, and 3D design—giving students practical exposure to real tools, real challenges, and real opportunities.
Our courses are delivered in a new state of the art training center, centrally located in Peninsula, Ohio. The center is situated on 600 acres of The Manatoc Scout Reservation, the only Scout Camp that is inside a National Park.
The STEP program includes effective introductions to several skilled trades through hands-on courses. Our new Skilled Trades Center provides a safe, effective, and unique venue to introduce, educate and instruct community youth to the in-demand field of skilled trades.
Safety is a value that is taught and reinforced at every opportunity. Training courses are presented through Scouting America, where all volunteers and employees are trained to ensure a safe experience. We do not compromise the safety of youth, volunteers, or employees.
