STEP gives youth meaningful exposure to career opportunities at an earlier age than traditional programs. By age 11, many children are already capable of examining the world around them with curiosity and maturity. These formative years present a powerful opportunity to connect them with the systems that shape daily life—how the lights come on, what makes the water flow, and the people behind it all. STEP bridges that awareness with hands-on learning, inspiring young minds to see themselves as future builders, innovators, and problem-solvers in their communities.
Flexible Session Options - The STEP program offers school districts the choice of 1-day, 3-day, or 5-day sessions in a discipline of their choice. Each course is designed around a 6-hour instructional day, with the flexibility to adjust shorter or longer to accommodate transportation needs between schools and the Trades Center.
Grade-Level Tracks - STEP provides both Introductory courses (6th–8th grade) and Advanced courses (9th–10th grade). While the core content remains consistent, advanced sessions dive deeper into technical detail and feature more intricate, hands-on projects to challenge older students.
Individual school districts are offered sessions throughout the school year. Multiple-day sessions can be booked consecutively in the same week or spaced as daily sessions on various days over several weeks.
